Process

The interview process at Affirm consisted of five stages over four weeks:

  • Screening: Initial call with the recruiter.
  • Technical (Card Game): A coding challenge with a senior engineer.
  • Hiring Manager Interview: Behavioral questions.
  • Technical (Debug & Fix Code): Problem-solving session with a senior engineer.
  • Hiring Manager Interview: Another behavioral interview.

Pros: The recruitment team was very supportive and provided resources to help me prepare for each stage of the process.

Cons: Unfortunately, during the final Hiring Manager interview, the manager was eating while I was speaking, which I found unprofessional and disrespectful. Additionally, the overall process felt unnecessarily long. A four-week timeline risks losing the interest of candidates, as many others have pointed out. Streamlining the process would improve the candidate experience.
