The interview never happened due to the recruiter.
Keep in mind that the recruiter reached out to me for this job; I did not apply.
The first time around, the recruiter never called during the appointment time. I decided to let it go, but after a full week, the recruiter reached out and apologetically rescheduled the call for two weeks out.
Second time around, the recruiter called very late. She didn't remember who I was or which location I was interviewing for (this is important because the recruiter was based in California, and I am in Ontario).
During the call, the recruiter made some comments that concerned me about Atlassian's culture:
Generally, the recruiter didn't seem to know much about the role she was hiring for and seemed very unprepared for this call. The recruiter ended the call saying we would be starting with the first round of interviews soon and then completely ghosted me.
I did not follow up because, between this experience and all the scary things I read on Glassdoor from current or former employees about Atlassian's current culture, I had lost the motivation to interview.
I am experienced enough to know that red flags during the interview process often translate into a toxic work culture. I just abandoned the process.
