I want to share my experience with Epic Games' recruitment process, which turned out to be one of the most frustrating and disappointing experiences I’ve had with a company.

The process started in June 2024, when I applied for a software engineer position. After several rounds of technical interviews, including thorough assessments and discussions with the team, I was told that I had performed well. However, at the end of the process, I was informed that the offer would not be extended, with little explanation provided.

Later that year, Epic Games reached out to me again, expressing renewed interest in my profile for the same role. After several more discussions, they assured me of their commitment and began discussions about relocation support, immigration sponsorship, and a competitive compensation package. I was led to believe that the offer was close to finalization, as salary and benefits were negotiated in detail, and even a start date was discussed.

However, after all of this, I was suddenly informed that the leadership team had decided not to proceed, stating that my profile didn’t match the role. This was shocking, as I had already gone through extensive evaluations and received positive feedback from the team. It’s hard to accept that such a decision was made by individuals who had never spoken to me directly, seemingly overriding the opinions of the team who had actually assessed my qualifications.

This experience left me feeling disrespected and disappointed. Epic Games gave me high hopes, only to take them away at the very last moment, after significant time and energy had been invested by both sides.
