I did not get a proper interview at Epic. I applied online for the Quality Managed position, and within a day, I had gotten scheduled a role introduction via Zoom.
They also had me take an aptitude test. I was told via email that my camera would be turned off and there would be a Q&A at the end for any questions I had.
Whenever I got on the Zoom call with a current Quality Manager, they presented a PowerPoint presentation to me. The only time I got to speak was at the Q&A, where I asked two questions. I never once received a phone screening, which I thought was strange. They never asked me any questions about my resume.
After the role introduction, they scheduled my assessments. After that, I emailed Epic and asked about what a typical application process was and why I never received a proper interview, and they dodged that question. I waited eight days for a response back. Yesterday, I received a rejection email from them.
I do feel that the process was unfair, and that they were stringing me along. I’m an English major; however, on their website, it says they consider all backgrounds. I feel that that’s not necessarily true, considering they didn’t even allow me to have an interview with them and talk about my academic background. Other reviews I have seen online have said that they all received a phone screening.
I do feel that they weren’t ever interested in me as a candidate, and the company should have been honest from the beginning.
