Process

I received an email via my school's job website and decided to apply. That same day, I scheduled a phone interview with them about two weeks in the future. In the meantime, I took the online test. I was not a fan of this beginning part of the process, as I had to read emails very carefully to figure out exactly what needed to be done when, with regards to scheduling and paperwork.

The online test was proctored through an external system, and I was forced to let the proctor use my mouse, which I think is somewhat unacceptable. The test itself was fine. There was a speed test with a bunch of short problems, a debugging test, and a coding test. The coding part was in a regular text editor, not one that you could compile your code in.

The phone interview was pretty casual. I learned about the company and had to talk about projects I'd done, my interests, etc.

Three days after the phone interview, I got invited for an on-site. I got to have dinner with other interviewees and a current employee. The day of the on-site, there was an introduction to the software, a "case study" interview, a prepared 'talk about a project you've done' interview, and a short tour of the (huge and beautiful) campus. The day was pretty relaxed and fun.

Five days later, I got an offer.
