Senior Software Engineer Interview Experience - Redwood City, California

Process

This is one of the most political companies I have ever interviewed with.

They claim to embody 4H values (honesty, hunger, humility, etc.), but I don't believe these individuals possess any integrity.

They maintain double standards when interviewing candidates in CA versus Denver.

Two of my friends also interviewed at SendGrid (CA) and, like me, both were offered roles less than their current positions, even though we were overly qualified for the positions.

The CEO is interested in establishing a development team in the Bay Area, but the Denver team (who conduct the interviews) ensures that candidates are offered roles below their current level. They provide extremely weak reasons to prompt candidates to reject the offer.

Even their own recruiters seem frustrated by this, as there have been several rejections of offers due to the Denver team's strategy of offering lower-level roles.

Their interviews are extremely easy, at least from my perspective.

The fact that they have no engineers in the Bay Area clearly supports my conclusion.

I want to bring this to the CEO's attention so he can take appropriate steps to address the problem.
