Pros
  • Good exposure to lots of projects in a less amount of time.
  • Good and flexible managers in terms of technical development and freedom.
  • Good healthcare and PTO policy.
  • Experience shapes you to take ownership and liability of your design decisions.
Cons
  • Politics has become more common, and Tesla was not known for this. It has ruined good experiences since last year, 2023.

  • Work-life balance can become imbalanced. Early career individuals can work, but people who prefer a balanced lifestyle may find it tough.

  • The annual bonus or pay raise structure is the worst in the industry, and managers will never negotiate it.

  • Favoritism is seen in many organizations, which should not be there, at least in technical teams. This kills enthusiasm and the problem-solving process.

Advice to Management

Please evaluate and see who really works and who is getting through the job responsibilities using politics and favoritism.

Have managers trained to have frank conversations and not hold grudges, even though an employee has different opinions and approaches in work or other activities.
