Senior Software Engineer Interview Experience - New York, New York

Process

This was one of the most inefficient and frustrating interview processes I have been through.

There was a lack of communication from both the hiring manager and the recruiter.

Over a month passed between interviews with absolutely no word or update from anyone.

And the kicker? I already work for this company. I was applying for a job on another team, and I still couldn't get any word or information back from anyone.

I was interested in the job material but not so much about the existing team members, as I already had great chemistry with my current team.

After taking 2.5 months for only one call with the recruiter, a half-hour interview with the manager, and one long interview with other team members, I never even heard officially from the recruiter or manager that they were not going to make an offer.

I heard from my current manager, who heard from the other manager in a casual conversation.

Seriously, if you apply, be prepared for a long process before you get an offer—seriously, up to 5 months.

And be prepared for radio silence at times.
