Description For Staff Software Engineer, Security

Airbnb, a global platform connecting over 5 million hosts with travelers worldwide, is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to join their Security team. This role is crucial in protecting the data of millions of users while enabling seamless exploration of the world through the platform.

The position focuses on leading efforts in data security, specifically identifying, securing, and preventing data leakage. As a Staff Software Engineer in Security, you'll be at the forefront of designing and implementing robust controls to safeguard Airbnb's data infrastructure. The role involves working with cutting-edge technologies, including AWS cloud services, AI/ML integration, and advanced security frameworks.

The ideal candidate will bring 9+ years of software development experience, with a strong background in security engineering and data protection. You'll work on exciting projects like the Data Protection Platform (DPP), implementing automatic data classification systems, and building scalable solutions for data security across multiple cloud platforms.

What makes this role particularly compelling is the opportunity to work at the intersection of security and enablement - you'll be part of a team that makes it easier for engineers to create secure features rather than acting as blockers. The position offers competitive compensation ($204,000 - $255,000), equity, and benefits including Employee Travel Credits.

Working remotely, you'll collaborate with cross-functional teams while contributing to protecting one of the world's largest travel platforms. This is an excellent opportunity for someone passionate about security, scalable systems, and creating impact at a global scale.
