2025 Data Centre Operations Engineer Intern

AWS Infrastructure Services (AIS) owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. As a Data Centre Operations Engineer Intern, you'll be part of the team that keeps the cloud running. You'll work in an Amazon Data Center, providing technical support, including risk management and mitigation, corrective and preventative maintenance of critical facility infrastructure, vendor management, and metrics reporting.

Key responsibilities include:

• Maintaining mechanical and electrical equipment
• Assisting in root cause analysis of equipment failures
• Troubleshooting facility and rack-level events within internal SLA
• Taking daily operational readings of all mechanical and electrical equipment
• Utilizing internal CMMS to manage building workflows
• Interacting with third-party vendors and contractors working on site

The internship is full-time (40 hours/week) for 12 consecutive weeks. You'll work with equipment that supports mission-critical servers and must maintain better than 99.999% uptime. This includes stand-by diesel generators, switchgear, UPS's, PDU's, AHU's, chillers, cooling towers, chemical treatment systems, pumps, motors, VFD's, and building automation systems.
