Amazon's Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) team is seeking a Business Intelligence Engineer to join their Analytics team. This role focuses on delivering business intelligence and data science solutions for supply chain optimization and forecast accuracy. The position combines technical expertise with business acumen, requiring skills in data analysis, statistical modeling, and business intelligence solutions.
The role involves working with large-scale data sets, developing forecasting models, and creating automated solutions to optimize Amazon's fulfillment network. You'll be part of a team responsible for aligning and optimizing Fulfillment Center network plans for labor and capacity constraints.
As a BIE, you'll use various technologies including SQL, Python, and AWS services to analyze data, build ETL pipelines, and create visualization solutions. The position offers competitive compensation ranging from $89,600 to $185,000 based on location, plus additional benefits including equity and comprehensive medical coverage.
The ideal candidate will be comfortable with ambiguity, capable of working in a fast-paced environment, and able to transform complex business problems into actionable insights. Responsibilities For Business Intel Engineer II, Sales and Operations Planning
- Identify, develop and execute analyses to uncover areas of opportunity
- Develop new forecasting models or improve existing approaches using scalable techniques
- Report key insight trends using statistical rigor
- Work with technology teams to extract, transform, and load data using SQL, scripting language and AWS technologies
- Implement big-data technologies and solutions to optimize processing of large data sets
- Build automated data solutions and dashboards
- Recognize and adopt best practices in reporting, analysis, data integrity, test design, validation, and documentation
Requirements For Business Intel Engineer II, Sales and Operations Planning
- Bachelor's degree in BI, finance, engineering, statistics, computer science, mathematics, finance or equivalent quantitative field
- 3+ years of analyzing and interpreting data with Redshift, Oracle, NoSQL etc. experience
- Experience with data visualization using Tableau, Quicksight, or similar tools
- Experience with data modeling, warehousing and building ETL pipelines
- Experience using SQL to pull data from a database or data warehouse and scripting experience (Python)
- 3+ years of machine learning, statistical modeling and time series modeling
