Description For Cloud Support Engineer-I, GovCloud Support Team (US)

Amazon Web Services (AWS) Premium Support team is seeking Cloud Support Engineers to provide world-class technical support across their comprehensive cloud platform. This role represents an exciting opportunity to work with cutting-edge cloud technologies while solving complex technical challenges for AWS customers.

The position involves working directly with customers to resolve technical issues ranging from basic EC2 Linux guidance to complex Big Data configurations. Support Engineers are crucial in maintaining AWS's customer-first approach, serving as the bridge between customers and development teams. They not only solve technical problems but also contribute to the platform's evolution through customer feedback and feature requests.

What makes this role particularly attractive is the absence of after-hours on-call duties, thanks to AWS's global follow-the-sun support model. The work schedule is flexible, operating on a 5-day rotation that could include weekends, with options for Sunday-Thursday, Tuesday-Saturday, or Monday-Friday schedules.

The role offers significant growth opportunities, including mentoring new hires, developing training materials, collaborating with development teams, and participating in process improvement initiatives. Engineers also get to develop their own tools and scripts to enhance team efficiency.

AWS values diversity and inclusive experiences, welcoming candidates from various backgrounds, including those with non-traditional career paths. The company provides comprehensive benefits, emphasizing work-life harmony, and offers extensive resources for professional development and career advancement.

The ideal candidate should be customer-focused, capable of multitasking, and possess strong written and verbal communication skills. Technical requirements include knowledge of system administration, networking concepts, and cloud computing fundamentals. The compensation is competitive, ranging from $71,100 to $158,900 annually, based on geographic location and experience, plus additional benefits and potential equity compensation.

This position offers a unique opportunity to work with a global leader in cloud computing while developing expertise across a broad spectrum of technologies and services. The role combines technical problem-solving with customer service, making it ideal for those who enjoy both technical challenges and helping others succeed.
