Description For Data Center Engineering Operations Technician, DCC Communities

AWS Infrastructure Services is seeking a Data Center Engineering Operations Technician to join their world-class team maintaining and operating critical infrastructure systems. As part of Earth's most customer-centric company, you'll work in some of the world's most sophisticated and secure data centers, supporting AWS's position as the global leader in cloud computing.

The role involves hands-on electrical and mechanical equipment maintenance, working with cutting-edge technology in a mission-critical environment. You'll be responsible for maintaining 24/7 reliability of data center operations, monitoring complex systems, and responding to technical challenges within strict SLAs.

Key responsibilities include daily monitoring of electrical, mechanical, and fire/life safety equipment, troubleshooting facility issues, performing preventative maintenance, and managing technical documentation. You'll work with standby diesel generators, 3-phase electrical systems, HVAC equipment, and building automation systems.

Responsibilities For Data Center Engineering Operations Technician, DCC Communities

  • Monitor and record information from electrical, mechanical, and fire/life safety equipment
  • Monitor Building Management Systems (BMS) and Electrical Power Management System (EPMS)
  • Troubleshoot facility and rack-level events within SLAs
  • Perform rack installs and decommissioning
  • Perform PM, troubleshooting, root cause analysis of electrical and mechanical equipment
  • Technical writing for change management program
  • Monitor and resolve daily work requests
  • Provide on-site support for contractors and vendors

Requirements For Data Center Engineering Operations Technician, DCC Communities

Linux
  • Technical (Military/Trade School) training or 2+ years of electrical or mechanical, HVAC, fire system experience
  • 2+ years' experience with Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word and PowerPoint)
  • High school or equivalent diploma
  • Ability to lift up to 39 pounds independently
  • Physical ability to maintain balance, work on ladders, and perform construction tasks
  • Willingness to work 12-hour shifts and rotating schedules
