As a Data Center Engineering Operations Technician, you'll be part of the front-line team maintaining and operating critical infrastructure in some of the world's most sophisticated data centers. You'll work with cutting-edge technology, performing essential maintenance on electrical and mechanical systems including diesel generators, UPS units, cooling systems, and fire safety equipment.

The role combines hands-on technical work with monitoring and troubleshooting responsibilities. You'll conduct daily inspections, respond to facility events, manage rack installations, and ensure 24/7 reliability of mission-critical systems. Working alongside global experts, you'll help implement new technologies and best practices that define industry standards.

Responsibilities For Data Center Engineering Operations Technician, DCC Communities

  • Daily building rounds to monitor electrical, mechanical, and fire/life safety equipment
  • Monitor Building Management Systems (BMS) and Electrical Power Management System (EPMS)
  • Troubleshoot facility and rack-level events within SLAs
  • Perform rack installs and decommissioning
  • Perform PM, troubleshooting, root cause analysis of electrical and mechanical equipment
  • Technical writing for change management program
  • Monitor and resolve daily work requests
  • Provide on-site support for contractors and vendors
  • Work rotating 12-hour shifts with possible on-call duties

Requirements For Data Center Engineering Operations Technician, DCC Communities

  • High school or equivalent diploma
  • Technical (Military/Trade School) training or 1+ years of electrical or mechanical, HVAC, fire system experience
  • 1+ years of electrical or mechanical experience
  • 1+ years experience with Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word and PowerPoint)
  • Ability to lift and move up to 39 pounds independently
  • Ability to participate in group lifts for 40+ pounds
  • Physical ability to maintain balance and perform tasks on ladder
  • Ability to work in environment requiring ear protection
