Description For Data Center Engineering Operations Technician, DCC Communities

Join AWS Infrastructure Services, the team responsible for keeping the cloud running worldwide. As a Data Center Engineering Operations Technician, you'll be part of Earth's most customer-centric company, working with front-line responders who support some of the world's most powerful data centers. You'll maintain and operate critical infrastructure systems including electrical, mechanical, and fire/life safety equipment.

The role involves hands-on electrical and mechanical equipment maintenance, troubleshooting mission-critical systems like diesel generators, UPS units, cooling systems, and building automation systems. You'll work with sophisticated technology in some of the world's most secure data centers, collaborating with global experts to implement cutting-edge solutions.

AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. We support all AWS data centers, servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment. This ensures our customers have continuous access to innovation they rely on.

You'll join a diverse team of software, hardware, and network engineers, working on challenging problems with thousands of variables impacting the supply chain. The role offers significant growth opportunities through mentorship, knowledge-sharing, and career development resources. AWS values diverse experiences and fosters an inclusive culture through employee-led affinity groups and ongoing learning experiences.

The position requires physical capabilities including lifting, working on ladders, and maintaining balance during construction tasks. You'll work in rotating 12-hour shifts, supporting multiple locations as needed. The ideal candidate has technical training or experience in electrical/mechanical systems, with strong Microsoft Office skills.

Join us in our mission to deliver the highest standards for safety and security while providing seemingly infinite capacity at the lowest possible cost for our customers. At AWS, we believe in work-life harmony and creating an environment where success at work doesn't require sacrifices at home.
