AWS Infrastructure Services is seeking a Data Center Engineering Operations Technician to join their world-class team maintaining and operating critical infrastructure systems. As part of Earth's most customer-centric company, you'll work in some of the world's most sophisticated, safe, and secure data centers.

The role involves hands-on electrical and mechanical equipment maintenance, reporting to a Data Center Facility Manager. You'll be responsible for maintaining mission-critical systems including standby diesel generators, 3-phase electrical systems, UPS units, PDUs, and various mechanical equipment like CRAHU units, centrifugal chillers, and cooling towers.

As an Engineering Operations Technician, you'll be part of AWS Infrastructure Services, which owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. You'll collaborate with software, hardware, and network engineers, working on challenging problems that impact the global supply chain.

The position requires physical capabilities including regular lifting, working on ladders, and maintaining balance while performing construction tasks. Shifts can be up to 12 hours and may rotate on a predefined schedule, with some locations having on-call rotations.

Responsibilities For Data Center Engineering Operations Technician, DCC Communities

  • Daily building rounds to monitor electrical, mechanical, and fire/life safety equipment
  • Monitor Building Management Systems (BMS) and Electrical Power Management System (EPMS)
  • Troubleshoot facility and rack-level events within internal SLAs
  • Perform rack installs and decommissioning
  • Perform PM, troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and repair of electrical and mechanical equipment
  • Technical writing to support change management program
  • Monitor and manage daily work requests to resolution
  • Provide on-site support of contractors and vendors

Requirements For Data Center Engineering Operations Technician, DCC Communities

Linux
  • Technical (Military/Trade School) training or 2+ years of electrical or mechanical, HVAC, fire system experience
  • 2+ years' experience with Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word and PowerPoint)
  • High school or equivalent diploma
  • Ability to lift and move up to 39 pounds independently
  • Physical ability to maintain balance, work on ladders, and perform construction tasks
  • Willingness to work in shifts up to 12-hours that may rotate on a predefined schedule
