Description For Data Center Engineering Operations Technician, DCC Communities

AWS Infrastructure Services is seeking a Data Center Engineering Operations Technician to join their world-class team maintaining and operating critical infrastructure systems. This role serves as the front line for AWS's sophisticated data centers, working with cutting-edge technology and the brightest minds in the industry.

As an EOT, you'll be responsible for the hands-on maintenance and troubleshooting of mission-critical data center facility equipment, including standby diesel generators, 3-phase electrical systems, mechanical equipment, and fire/life safety systems. You'll work in some of the world's most advanced, secure data centers, ensuring 24/7 reliability and availability.

Responsibilities For Data Center Engineering Operations Technician, DCC Communities

  • Daily building rounds to monitor electrical, mechanical, and fire/life safety equipment
  • Monitor Building Management Systems (BMS) and Electrical Power Management System (EPMS)
  • Troubleshoot facility and rack-level events within SLAs
  • Perform rack installs and decommissioning
  • Perform PM, troubleshooting, root cause analysis of electrical and mechanical equipment
  • Technical writing for change management program
  • Monitor and resolve daily work requests
  • Provide on-site support of contractors and vendors
  • Work rotating 12-hour shifts with possible on-call rotations

Requirements For Data Center Engineering Operations Technician, DCC Communities

Linux
  • Technical (Military/Trade School) training or 2+ years of electrical or mechanical, HVAC, fire system experience
  • 2+ years' experience with Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word and PowerPoint)
  • High school or equivalent diploma
  • Ability to lift and move up to 39 pounds independently
  • Ability to participate in group lifts for 40+ pounds
  • Physical ability to maintain balance and perform tasks on ladder
  • Ability to work in environment requiring ear protection
