Description For Data Center Engineering Operations Technician, DCC Communities

AWS Infrastructure Services is seeking a Data Center Engineering Operations Technician to join their world-class team maintaining and operating critical infrastructure systems. As part of Earth's most customer-centric company, you'll work in some of the world's most sophisticated and secure data centers, alongside the brightest minds in the industry.

The role involves hands-on electrical and mechanical equipment maintenance, working with standby diesel generators, 3-phase electrical systems, UPS units, PDUs, and various mechanical systems including CRAHU units, centrifugal chillers, and cooling towers. You'll be responsible for monitoring critical systems, performing preventative maintenance, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring 24/7 reliability of data center operations.

You must be comfortable with physical demands including lifting, working on ladders, and performing construction tasks. The role may require 12-hour shifts and rotating schedules.

Responsibilities For Data Center Engineering Operations Technician, DCC Communities

  • Monitor and record information from electrical, mechanical, and fire/life safety equipment
  • Monitor Building Management Systems (BMS) and Electrical Power Management System (EPMS)
  • Troubleshoot facility and rack-level events within SLAs
  • Perform rack installs and decommissioning
  • Perform PM, troubleshooting, root cause analysis of electrical and mechanical equipment
  • Technical writing for change management program
  • Monitor and resolve daily work requests
  • Provide on-site support for contractors and vendors

Requirements For Data Center Engineering Operations Technician, DCC Communities

Linux
  • Technical (Military/Trade School) training or 2+ years of electrical or mechanical, HVAC, fire system experience
  • 2+ years' experience with Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word and PowerPoint)
  • High school or equivalent diploma
  • Ability to lift up to 39 pounds independently
  • Physical ability to maintain balance, work on ladders, and perform construction tasks
  • Willingness to work 12-hour shifts and rotating schedules
