Description For Data Center Engineering Operations Technician, DCC Communities

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking a Data Center Engineering Operations Technician to join their Data Center Engineering Operations team. As part of Earth's most customer-centric company, you'll work with front-line responders supporting operations of some of the world's most powerful data centers.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Conducting daily building rounds to monitor electrical, mechanical, and fire/life safety equipment
  • Monitoring Building Management Systems (BMS) and Electrical Power Management System (EPMS)
  • Troubleshooting facility and rack-level events
  • Performing rack installs and decommissioning
  • Executing preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on electrical and mechanical equipment
  • Technical writing for change management
  • Managing work requests and projects
  • Supporting contractors and vendors on-site

The role requires working in various physical conditions, including lifting up to 39 pounds independently, participating in group lifts for 40+ pounds, and performing tasks on ladders. Shifts can be up to 12 hours and may rotate on a predefined schedule, with some locations having on-call rotations.

As an AWS Infrastructure Services team member, you'll contribute to the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. You'll work on challenging problems alongside a diverse team of professionals, including software, hardware, and network engineers, supply chain specialists, and security experts.

  • Technical (Military/Trade School) training or 2+ years of electrical or mechanical, HVAC, fire system experience in mission-critical infrastructure
  • 2+ years' experience with Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • High school or equivalent diploma
  • Ability to lift and move up to 39 pounds independently
  • Willingness to work in various physical conditions
