Description For Data Center Engineering Operations Water Tech

AWS Infrastructure Services is seeking a detail-oriented Water Infrastructure Tech to join their Data Center Engineering Operations Team. This role is crucial in maintaining the critical physical infrastructure that supports Amazon Web Services, specifically focusing on water systems management and efficiency.

The position combines technical expertise in water treatment systems with hands-on operational responsibilities. You'll be working with state-of-the-art water infrastructure equipment, including ultrafiltration systems, reverse osmosis systems, and oxidant systems. The role requires both technical knowledge and physical capabilities, as you'll be conducting regular maintenance, sampling, and repair work around water treatment facilities.

As part of a team of highly trained Chief Engineers with over 20 years of combined AWS experience, you'll contribute to ensuring 100% availability of the data center's Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) systems. Your responsibilities will range from enhancing Water Utilization Efficiency to ensuring compliance with environmental regulations and managing preventative maintenance schedules.

Responsibilities For Data Center Engineering Operations Water Tech

  • Conducting analyses to enhance Water Utilization Efficiency (WUE)
  • Developing and implementing Legionella program solutions
  • Ensuring compliance with ODEQ and local regulations
  • Acting as SME for water infrastructure equipment
  • Overseeing preventative maintenance and spare parts management
  • Conducting water sampling activities
  • Coordinating with vendors for equipment troubleshooting and repair
  • Engaging with supporting teams like Field Engineering, Design Engineering, Environmental, Legal and Regional Water team
  • Working around evaporative cooling ponds for sampling, remediation, and repair work

Requirements For Data Center Engineering Operations Water Tech

Linux
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • 4+ years of relevant work experience in a data center or other critical environment
  • Knowledge of water treatment processes, equipment, quality regulations and safety procedures
  • Ability to operate and maintain water treatment equipment and systems
  • Ability to lift and move up to 39 pounds independently
  • Physical ability to maintain balance, work on ladders, and perform construction tasks
