Description For Data Center Operations (DCO) Server Engineer

AWS Infrastructure Services (AIS) is at the heart of Amazon Web Services' global infrastructure, responsible for designing, planning, delivering, and operating all AWS data centers worldwide. This role offers an exciting opportunity to join the team that literally keeps the cloud running. As a Data Center Engineer, you'll be part of the Operations team managing the hardware lifecycle of AWS's IT infrastructure in one of the world's largest computing facilities.

Your responsibilities will span from hands-on technical work like server rack installation and hardware troubleshooting to participating in critical maintenance activities. You'll work in a fast-paced environment following ticket-based workflows and maintaining high service level agreements (SLAs). The position involves 24/7 shift rotation and requires both technical expertise and operational excellence.

Responsibilities For Data Center Operations (DCO) Server Engineer

  • On-site management of hardware lifecycle of IT infrastructure
  • Server rack installation/decommission
  • Hardware break-fix on various components
  • Troubleshooting network issues
  • Responding to emergent situations affecting operational stability
  • Perform on-call duties
  • Participate in scheduled maintenance and change management activities
  • Contribute to documentation and root cause analysis
  • Assist in training less experienced team members
  • Maintain data center infrastructure and equipment

Requirements For Data Center Operations (DCO) Server Engineer

Linux
  • High school or equivalent diploma
  • STEM classes or vocational course curriculum education
  • Experience with Microsoft Office products and applications
  • Ability to work 40 hours/week, and overtime as required
  • Ability to work 10 hour shifts as needed
  • Experience managing work and priorities through a ticketing system
