Amazon's Financial Technology (FinTech) team is seeking a Data Engineer to join their Tax teams, focusing on building and operating technology for Amazon's global tax compliance and audits. The role involves working with a big-data platform that streams billions of transactions daily, processing and organizing them for global tax compliance. You'll be part of a team responsible for creating next-generation tools for intuitive data access using AWS technologies.
As a Data Engineer, you'll design and develop massively scalable, distributed real-time systems using Python, Java, and various database technologies. The position requires strong expertise in data modeling, ETL pipelines, and SQL, with preferred experience in AWS services. You'll work closely with Tax teams across different geographies, understanding their business problems and delivering solutions that align with customer priorities.

Responsibilities For Data Engineer II, Fintech TAX - RoW Compliance
- Design, develop, document and support massively scalable, distributed real time systems
- Build and deliver software systems that support complex and rapidly evolving business requirements
- Communicate ideas effectively to achieve the right outcome for team and customer
- Provide guidance and support for other engineers
- Work closely with Tax teams to understand business problems
- Build quick solutions and create POCs
- Perform deep dives and contribute to quality code reviews
- Own and resolve operational tickets
- Build data lineage based reporting solutions
Requirements For Data Engineer II, Fintech TAX - RoW Compliance
- 3+ years of data engineering experience
- Experience with data modeling, warehousing and building ETL pipelines
- Experience with SQL
- Bachelor's degree or higher in a quantitative/technical field (preferred)
- Experience with AWS technologies (preferred)
- Experience with non-relational databases (preferred)
- 3+ years of experience in scripting languages like Python, Scala, Pyspark
- Knowledge of Distributed Systems
- Excellent Communication and Problem solving skills
- Self-motivated and able to work alone as well as part of a team
