The role involves hands-on work with data center equipment, ensuring 99.999% uptime for AWS's cloud computing portfolio. You'll be responsible for performing rack installations, maintenance operations, and troubleshooting facility-level events. Responsibilities For Engineering Operations Technician, Data Center Engg Ops

  • Drive innovation while reducing operational costs in the facilities
  • Drive projects with moderate complexity
  • Assist in troubleshooting of facility and rack-level events within internal SLAs
  • Perform rack installs, rack decommissioning, operational readings and facility management
  • Provide key performance indicators to senior engineers
  • Manage on-site contractors, sub-contractors and vendors
  • Perform maintenance and operations on electrical, mechanical, and fire/life safety equipment
  • Maintain data center critical infrastructure ensuring 99.999% up-time

Requirements For Engineering Operations Technician, Data Center Engg Ops

Linux
  • Technical (Military/Trade School) training or 2+ years' of equivalent experience in electrical or mechanical industry
  • 1+ years of electrical or mechanical experience
  • 1+ years' experience with Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word and PowerPoint)
  • Ability to lift and move up to 39 pounds unassisted
  • Ability to work in shifts up to 12-hours that may rotate on a predefined schedule
