Join Amazon Web Services (AWS), Earth's most customer-centric company, as an Engineering Operations Technician in our Data Center Engineering Operations team. This role offers a unique opportunity to work with cutting-edge technology in some of the world's most sophisticated data centers.

As part of AWS Infrastructure Services, you'll be responsible for maintaining and operating critical infrastructure systems that power the world's largest cloud computing portfolio. You'll work alongside diverse teams of software, hardware, and network engineers, collaborating to ensure 99.999% uptime for our global infrastructure.

The role combines hands-on technical work with strategic thinking. You'll be involved in rack installations, facility management, and troubleshooting complex systems. Your responsibilities will include managing contractors, driving innovation projects, and ensuring compliance with safety procedures and established practices.

This position requires technical expertise in electrical or mechanical systems, physical capabilities for hands-on work, and strong analytical skills for root cause analysis and performance monitoring. Responsibilities For Engineering Operations Technician, Data Center Engg Ops

  • Drive innovation while reducing operational costs in the facilities
  • Drive projects with moderate complexity
  • Assist in troubleshooting of facility and rack-level events
  • Perform rack installs, rack decommissioning, operational readings and facility management
  • Provide key performance indicators to senior engineers
  • On-site management of contractors, sub-contractors and vendors
  • Maintain data center critical infrastructure equipment ensuring 99.999% up-time
  • Perform maintenance and operations on electrical, mechanical, and fire/life safety equipment
  • Work in rotating 12-hour shifts with possible on-call rotations

Requirements For Engineering Operations Technician, Data Center Engg Ops

Linux
  • Technical (Military/Trade School) training or 2+ years' of equivalent experience in a relevant industry
  • 1+ years of electrical or mechanical experience
  • 1+ years' experience with Microsoft Office products
  • Ability to lift and move up to 39 pounds unassisted
  • Physical capabilities: walking, climbing stairs, stooping, kneeling, crawling
