Description For Engineering Operations Technician, Data Center Engg Ops

Join AWS Infrastructure Services, the team responsible for keeping the world's largest cloud computing portfolio running. As an Engineering Operations Technician II, you'll be part of the Data Center Engineering Operations team maintaining critical infrastructure in some of the world's most sophisticated data centers. You'll work alongside front-line responders, collaborating with diverse teams of software, hardware, and network engineers.

The role involves hands-on work with facility and rack-level systems, requiring both technical expertise and physical capabilities. You'll be responsible for maintaining and operating critical infrastructure systems, ensuring 99.999% uptime for AWS's global infrastructure. Key responsibilities include driving innovation, managing contractors, performing maintenance on electrical and mechanical systems, and contributing to operational efficiency.

Responsibilities For Engineering Operations Technician, Data Center Engg Ops

  • Drive innovation while reducing operational costs in the facilities
  • Drive projects with moderate complexity
  • Assist in troubleshooting of facility and rack-level events
  • Perform rack installs, rack decommissioning, operational readings and facility management
  • Provide key performance indicators to senior engineers
  • On-site management of contractors, sub-contractors and vendors
  • Perform maintenance and operations on electrical, mechanical, and fire/life safety equipment
  • Maintain data center critical infrastructure ensuring 99.999% up-time

Requirements For Engineering Operations Technician, Data Center Engg Ops

Linux
  • Technical (Military/Trade School) training or 2+ years' of equivalent experience in relevant industry
  • 2+ years of electrical or mechanical experience
  • 2+ years' experience with Microsoft Office products
  • Ability to lift and move up to 39 pounds unassisted
  • Ability to work in shifts up to 12-hours that may rotate
