Description For Engineering Operations Technician, DCC Communities

Join AWS Infrastructure Services, the team responsible for designing, planning, delivering, and operating AWS's global infrastructure. As an Engineering Operations Technician, you'll be part of Earth's most customer-centric company, working with front-line responders who support some of the world's most powerful data centers.

Your role will involve maintaining and operating critical infrastructure systems, including standby diesel generators, 3-phase electrical systems, mechanical equipment, and fire/life safety systems. You'll work alongside the brightest minds globally to implement cutting-edge technology and best practices.

Responsibilities For Engineering Operations Technician, DCC Communities

  • Daily building rounds to monitor and record information from electrical, mechanical, and fire/life safety equipment
  • Monitor Building Management Systems (BMS) and Electrical Power Management System (EPMS)
  • Assist in troubleshooting facility and rack-level events
  • Perform rack installs and decommissioning
  • Perform PM, troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and repair of electrical and mechanical equipment
  • Technical writing to support change management program
  • Monitor daily work requests and manage to resolution
  • On-site support of contractors and vendors
  • Maintain and operate mission-critical data center facility equipment

Requirements For Engineering Operations Technician, DCC Communities

Linux
  • High school or equivalent diploma
  • Technical (Military/Trade School) training or 1+ years of electrical or mechanical experience
  • 1+ years experience with Microsoft Office products
  • Ability to lift and move up to 39 pounds independently
  • Physical ability to work on ladders, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl
  • Willingness to work 12-hour shifts and rotating schedules
