Join AWS Infrastructure Services, the team responsible for keeping the world's largest cloud computing portfolio running. As an Engineering Operations Technician II, you'll work in some of the most sophisticated and secure data centers globally, maintaining critical infrastructure systems with 99.999% uptime. You'll collaborate with front-line responders and bright minds worldwide to implement cutting-edge technology and work practices.

The role involves hands-on technical work with data center infrastructure, including rack installations, maintenance of electrical and mechanical systems, and facility management. You'll drive innovation projects, troubleshoot facility events, and manage on-site contractors while ensuring compliance with safety procedures and established practices.

Responsibilities For Engineering Ops Technician, DCC Communities

  • Drive innovation while reducing operational costs in the facilities
  • Drive projects with moderate complexity
  • Assist in troubleshooting of facility and rack-level events within internal SLAs
  • Perform rack installs, rack decommissioning, operational readings and facility management
  • Provide key performance indicators to senior engineers
  • Manage on-site contractors, sub-contractors and vendors
  • Perform maintenance and operations on electrical, mechanical, and fire/life safety equipment
  • Maintain data center critical infrastructure ensuring 99.999% uptime

Requirements For Engineering Ops Technician, DCC Communities

Linux
  • High school or equivalent diploma
  • 2+ years of electrical and/or mechanical experience OR data center/mission critical facilities experience
  • 2+ years of MS Office Suite experience
  • Ability to lift and move up to 39 pounds unassisted
  • Physical capabilities: walking, climbing stairs, working above shoulders, stooping, kneeling
  • Willing to work 12-hour shifts and rotating schedules
