Amazon Prime, serving over 100 million paid members across 24 countries, is seeking a Quality Assurance Engineer II to join their Member Growth Tech team. This role is perfect for someone passionate about developing test strategies and solving complex problems while ensuring the highest quality standards for one of the world's most visited websites.

As a QAE II, you'll be responsible for testing code at both service and user levels, using various testing techniques including black box, gray box, and white box testing. You'll work with cutting-edge technologies to implement highly scalable automation for both UI and backend testing. The role involves close collaboration with Software Development Engineers, Business Owners, Product Management, User Interaction, and Customer Support teams to understand customer usage models and develop comprehensive test plans.

The position offers a competitive salary range of $102,600 to $185,000, depending on location and experience, plus additional benefits including medical coverage and 401k. You'll be working in Seattle, WA, at the heart of Amazon's innovation center, contributing to a platform that handles millions of transactions daily.

  • Create and execute test plans for manual and automation test execution
  • Drive test execution with peers and stakeholders
  • Write automated tests using existing tools
  • Perform initial defect triage and root cause analysis
  • Troubleshoot automation failures and isolate bugs
  • Create and maintain automation scripts
  • Modify/extend test cases to accommodate feature releases
  • Participate in hiring and mentorship of peers
  • Drive software development process toward quality-centric methodologies
  • Report on test progress, metrics, and issues

  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in math/statistics/engineering
  • Experience in manual testing

  • Knowledge of one or more scripting languages (Shell, Bash, Perl, Python, JavaScript, or Ruby)
  • Experience with industry technologies (Selenium, Junit, TestNG, and other open source tools)
