Description For Regional Safety Engineer, Data Center Health and Safety

Join AWS's world-class safety culture as a Regional Safety Engineer supporting the largest cloud computing infrastructure team. You'll own the Health and Safety function for your area, working with a diverse team of experts in security, construction, operations, logistics, compliance, corporate counsel, and human resources. The role involves improving data center safety, advancing safety culture, and protecting employees through close collaboration with internal and external partners.

You'll partner with construction managers during AWS's data capacity expansion to identify and mitigate risks before live operations. Working in a fast-paced environment, you'll advocate for safe changes amid new infrastructure, tools, and processes. The position requires advising and training company personnel on safety policies while reporting to a Regional Safety Manager based in EMEA.

AWS Infrastructure Services manages the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. You'll join a diverse team working on challenging problems with thousands of variables impacting the supply chain. Responsibilities For Regional Safety Engineer, Data Center Health and Safety

  • Support implementation of health and safety standards, policies and practices
  • Conduct health and safety audits of Data Centers
  • Ensure compliance with global health and safety programs
  • Develop health and safety plans for emergencies
  • Maintain safety record keeping and data integrity
  • Perform data trend reviews
  • Consult with AWS H&S Program team and legal teams
  • Identify risks and partner with Operations to mitigate them
  • Provide daily health and safety guidance to customers

Requirements For Regional Safety Engineer, Data Center Health and Safety

  • Degree in Engineering, EHS or related field
  • 1-2 years of field experience, including in Spain
  • Master degree in Health, Safety and Ergonomics (Máster en Prevención de Riesgos Laborales)
