Description For Senior Interdisciplinary Systems Engineer

Amazon Robotics is seeking talented engineers to join their robotic manipulation team, focusing on end-to-end robotic systems development. This role combines systems engineering with robotics expertise to design and deliver scalable automation solutions. As a Senior Interdisciplinary Systems Engineer, you'll be responsible for defining and exploring complex robotics problems, analyzing trade-offs, and ensuring the development of safe, reliable systems that can operate at Amazon's massive scale.

The position requires a unique blend of technical expertise and leadership skills, as you'll work across multiple disciplines including hardware engineering, software engineering, and machine learning. Responsibilities For Senior Interdisciplinary Systems Engineer

  • Define and explore the design space for complex, multidisciplinary robotics and automation problems
  • Identify and analyze cross-functional tradeoffs between design alternatives
  • Break down and frame problems using concept of operations and system representations
  • Identify design choices to ensure products are safe, reliable, and usable at Amazon scale
  • Perform technical risk assessments and devise mitigation plans
  • Define and refine metrics for measuring performance and success rates of Robotic operations
  • Build quantitative models and analyses for trade studies
  • Develop system integration and evaluation strategies
  • Drive system test campaigns across lab and field testing environments

Requirements For Senior Interdisciplinary Systems Engineer

Python
  • BS or equivalent in Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Systems Engineering, Operations Research, Mathematics, Physics, or another STEM discipline
  • Experience with eliciting and clarifying business and end user needs
  • Experience leading technical collaborations across diverse groups
  • Experience identifying and analyzing dependencies, tradeoffs, and sensitivities across multi-disciplinary systems
