Description For Software Development Engineer II, Software Defined Network Control Plane, Project Kuiper

Project Kuiper is an ambitious Amazon initiative focused on launching a constellation of low earth orbit satellites to provide high-speed broadband internet to underserved communities worldwide. As a Software Development Engineer II, you'll be at the forefront of building the network infrastructure that connects satellites to ground-based systems. The position involves working with the Network Services team, where you'll be responsible for designing and developing scalable network functions that enable seamless connectivity between Kuiper satellites and end-users. Responsibilities For Software Development Engineer II, Software Defined Network Control Plane, Project Kuiper

  • Collaborate with engineers across the org to gather requirements, design, develop, deploy, and operate solution pipelines
  • Work on initiatives building networking functions on AWS infrastructure
  • Develop code, build CI/CD pipelines, test automation, and dashboards for monitoring
  • Engineer solutions for provisioning, address management, packet inspection and dynamic traffic management
  • Design, develop, test, deploy, and operate services for broadband networks systems

Requirements For Software Development Engineer II, Software Defined Network Control Plane, Project Kuiper

  • 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
  • 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture experience
  • Experience programming with at least one software programming language
  • Must be a U.S. citizen, national, permanent resident, or lawfully admitted refugee/asylee due to export control laws
