Description For Software Development Engineer, Video Ads, Amazon

The Video Ads team at Amazon is shaping the future of digital video entertainment. Our mission is to build earth's most customer-centric advertising services for Amazon's streaming publishers (e.g. Freevee, Fire TV Channels, Twitch). We are looking for a Software Development Engineer to pioneer new ad experiences for customers and help define our future to support streaming publisher creativity and innovation across in-house advertising technologies.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Understanding Amazon's advertising stacks and related industry standards
  • Driving technical solutions/architecture for advertising workflow that can scale
  • Leading the design of large components and deploying enterprise-level systems
  • Decomposing complex problems into simple, straight-forward solutions
  • Developing a strong engineering culture of rapid experimentation and iteration
  • Building relationships and earning trust with partner teams

This role offers a unique opportunity to influence the vision, capabilities, and architecture of Amazon's advertising systems in its infancy. The ideal candidate is customer-obsessed, has deep technical acumen, and can thrive in a startup environment while embracing complexity and ambiguity.

You will be working with a wide range of technologies, programming languages, and systems, including supply & demand side platforms, identity services, database, big data, and device/application-level services. This role requires the ability to ship error-free software and own the day-to-day maintenance and evolution of systems that serve a growing customer base.

If you're interested in making a huge impact on a rapidly expanding team and working hard to make history, this role could be perfect for you.
