Description For Support Engineer II

Alexa Shopping Operations is seeking a Support Engineer II to join their team focused on dataset generation and annotations. This role is crucial in enhancing customer experience across shopping features, devices, and locales. You'll work with AI and Large Language Models (LLMs) to improve Amazon's shopping experience globally.

As a Support Engineer II, you'll be responsible for becoming a subject matter expert in various services, providing technical support, and working closely with development teams. You'll need to understand complex application code, make approved fixes, and contribute to the improvement of support documentation and tools.

The role offers an opportunity to work with cutting-edge technology in AI and LLMs, particularly in Reinforcement Learning from Human Feedback (RLHF). You'll be part of a team that's building end-to-end data solutions for the LLM lifecycle, combining technological innovation with operational excellence.

Key responsibilities include mentoring other engineers, participating in code deployments, creating and interpreting performance metrics, and developing operational policies. Responsibilities For Support Engineer II

  • Become a subject matter expert on one or more services
  • Provide support activities and work with development teams to improve service support
  • Operate with guidance from management and drive issues to resolution
  • Understand business logic and architecture of supported services
  • Read and understand complex application code and make approved code fixes
  • Provide mentoring, training, documentation, and tools to other Support Engineers
  • Contribute to support documentation
  • Perform code builds and deployments
  • Create and interpret metrics for support success and service performance
  • Help develop operational policies and procedures
  • Write tools to improve operational efficiency
  • Contribute to design and development of support tools
  • Mentor other Support Engineers and participate in interviewing

Requirements For Support Engineer II

  • 3+ years of technical support experience
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, analytics, mathematics, statistics, IT or equivalent
  • Knowledge of AWS integration and usage
