Job Description

Amazon WorkSpaces is leading the cloud desktop revolution, seeking engineers to design and maintain highly scalable software services. As a System Development Engineer II in the Aperture team, you'll be part of the AWS Utility Computing (UC) organization, working on Desktop-as-a-Service (DAAS) solutions. The role focuses on ensuring optimal user experience, including launch times, login performance, and in-session interactions.

You'll be working in a high-trust environment, collaborating with internal service teams to enhance system health, maintainability, and operational efficiency. The position requires expertise in Linux, distributed systems, and networking technology. You'll be responsible for troubleshooting complex issues, building tools in Python/Java, and deploying scalable solutions across thousands of devices.

The Aperture/WorkSpaces Team provides high-caliber Operational Solutions and Cleared Support within ADC Regions. This role requires maintaining an active TS/SCI security clearance and involves hands-on support for deploying changes into isolated regions, monitoring results, and addressing issues.

  • 2+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
  • 1+ years of designing or architecting new and existing systems experience
  • Bachelor's degree, or CSSLP (Certified Secure Software Lifecycle Professional)
  • Experience programming with at least one modern language such as C++, C#, Java, Python, Golang, PowerShell, Ruby
  • Current, active US Government Security Clearance of Top Secret with SCI eligibility or above
