Description For System Development Engineer II, Reliability and Maintenance Engineering

Amazon's Reliability, Maintenance, and Engineering (RME) team is seeking a System Development Engineer to join their corporate-based engineering team within Automation Engineering. This role combines technical expertise in controls systems, workplace safety, and data-driven management. You'll work with material handling equipment (MHE) systems, packaging automation, and distribution processes.

As a System Development Engineer, you'll drive maintenance best practices, manage complex projects, and work with multiple teams including Operations, Engineering, and Safety. You'll be responsible for understanding and maintaining material handling control systems, including PLC/PC controllers and industrial networks.

The ideal candidate will have strong experience in infrastructure automation, programming skills in modern languages, and familiarity with Linux/Unix systems. You'll be involved in monitoring metrics, conducting failure analysis, and implementing process improvements. This role offers the opportunity to work with cutting-edge automation technology while improving Amazon's customer experience.

You'll collaborate with various stakeholders, from building operations to equipment vendors, making this role perfect for someone who combines technical expertise with strong communication skills.   • Drive maintenance Best Practices and improve Amazon customers experience
  • Offer guidance to senior leadership on maintenance and equipment end of life issues
  • Coordinate work activities for Control Systems Engineers
  • Work with various teams in supporting MHE systems optimization

  • Facilitate Failure Analysis and Incident Review processes
