Description For Water Infrastructure Manager, AWS Water Team

AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. We're looking for a results-oriented individual to join the AWS water infrastructure team. In this role, you will execute projects related to water-based cooling system infrastructure, working with internal teams and outside consultants to ensure our infrastructure projects meet regulatory standards and operational efficiency. You'll manage water sustainability projects for AWS Infrastructure in US East regions, monitor operational efficiency metrics, and build system resiliency. Key responsibilities include managing water and wastewater infrastructure projects, negotiating utility contracts, engineering water treatment projects, troubleshooting problems, and overseeing maintenance and compliance of on-site water treatment systems. The ideal candidate has a strong mechanical or chemistry background, understanding of water-cooled infrastructure, and interest in innovation and sustainability in the water sector.

Key Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical/Chemical/Civil Engineering or Water Resources Planning
  • 5+ years of experience in utility relationships and water infrastructure development
  • 5+ years of project management experience
  • 5+ years of experience with water chemistry and treatment technologies
  • 5+ years of experience working with government agencies and permitting entities

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree in related field
  • 8+ years of experience with water treatment equipment fleet management
  • Experience with fast-track design/build projects
  • Analytical mindset and ability to provide recommendations with limited information
  • Knowledge of SQL or data analytics tools like Tableau
