In the Mechatronics & Sustainable Packaging Customer Experience organization at Amazon, we work backwards from customer needs to represent their voice throughout the product lifecycle. As a Sr. Ops Engineer for Deployment & Ramp, you'll oversee multiple products and programs, focusing on deploying Mechatronics Sustainable Packaging (MSP) solutions at new and existing fulfillment centers. Your role involves coordinating installation, commissioning, and performance ramp-up of products in the field, while driving continuous improvement in deployment cycle time and engineering design. You'll manage project plans, influence deployment strategies, and own tactical planning for complex cross-functional projects. This role requires extensive travel (up to 75% or more) across North America and potentially internationally. You'll collaborate with various teams, including hardware engineering, technical program managers, and internal customers, to ensure successful product deployment and achievement of business requirements. The ideal candidate has a strong technical background in automated material handling equipment, project management experience, and the ability to work in a global environment while managing multiple responsibilities.

The Mechatronics & Sustainable Packaging Customer Experience (MSP CX) team focuses on validating, deploying, and supporting MSP solutions globally, maximizing solution readiness and customer satisfaction. The team maintains accountability towards internal customers and enables vertical integration and life-cycle management of MSP solutions across Quality Assurance, Deployment & Ramp-up, and Support pillars.

Requirements For Sr. Ops Engineer, Deployment & Ramp, MSP Customer Experience, Mechatronics & Sustainable Packaging Customer Experience

Linux
  • 5+ years of directly managing and responsible for multiple large projects experience
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Strong technical background in relevant fields of automated or non-automated material handling equipment
  • Experience managing project portfolios, budgets and decentralized resources
  • Experience working in a global environment while prioritizing and managing multiple responsibilities
  • Ability to travel frequently both within country up to 75% and occasional internationally (~5%)
  • Experience with Microsoft Office products and applications
  • Experience using CAD software (AutoCAD, REVIT, BIM 360, etc.)
  • Experience with procurement of equipment
  • Experience in Robotics, Automation, distribution, manufacturing, logistics, or other warehouse environments
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams/projects
  • Knowledge of Project management tools (PPM, Clarity, MPP or Jira)
