Description For Battery Management System Electrical Engineer

Apple is seeking a Battery Management System Electrical Engineer to join their Battery Engineering group. This role involves designing, developing, and testing battery monitoring units and Battery Management Units (BMU) for next-generation consumer electronic products. The ideal candidate will have a passion for invention and self-challenge, with the ability to craft creative battery solutions that deliver more energy in smaller spaces.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Designing BMU from concept to mass production, focusing on detailed board-level design
  • Pushing technology boundaries to maximize performance and minimize volume
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure timely and budget-friendly product development
  • Conducting investigations and preparing reports for issues
  • Developing schematics and BOMs to meet design requirements
  • Creating layout guidelines for PCBs and guiding Layout Engineers
  • Specifying custom parts and PCBs for BMUs
  • Analyzing designs using simulation tools (PSPICE, ANSYS, Verilog, or equivalent)
  • Conducting design validation on prototypes
  • Leading design reviews and incorporating team feedback
  • Specifying production test methods and working with CM partners

Requirements For Battery Management System Electrical Engineer

  • BS + 3 years of relevant industry experience
  • Experience in analog and/or power electronics design
  • Proficiency in schematic capture and PCB layout design for mixed signal boards (Cadence, Altium, Eagle, etc.)
  • Experience in design validation of new silicon or prototype bring-up
