Responsibilities For Software Engineer, Backend (Toronto, Hybrid / Remote)

  • Build and maintain resilient micro-services and APIs on AWS Cloud
  • Work in a CI/CD Cloud environment
  • Write high-quality code, adhering to coding, security and testing best practices
  • Assist in the operation of production systems (on-call support, deployments, troubleshooting)
  • Collaborate effectively inside and outside the team

Requirements For Software Engineer, Backend (Toronto, Hybrid / Remote)

  • BS degree in Computer Science or related technical field, or equivalent practical experience
  • 1+ years of professional experience developing distributed cloud applications
  • Broad knowledge of AWS cloud services, serverless programming and cloud architectures
  • Experience with designing and building APIs (REST, GraphQL)
  • Strong experience with JavaScript based programming languages like Node.js and React
  • Experience working with relational databases and/or NoSQL
  • Familiarity with caching technologies
  • Familiarity with observability tools
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
