Description For Water Resources Manager, AWS Water Team

AWS Infrastructure Services is at the heart of keeping the cloud running, managing all AWS global infrastructure including data centers, servers, storage, networking, and cooling equipment. The Water Resources Manager role in the APAC region focuses on water infrastructure and cooling systems for AWS facilities. You'll join a diverse team working on critical infrastructure projects, providing engineering support for new and existing water-based cooling systems.

The role involves executing multiple water projects across different geographies, conducting due diligence on water infrastructure solutions, and negotiating with utilities. You'll be responsible for ensuring smooth operations of water treatment systems, developing metrics, and serving as the subject matter expert for water infrastructure and risk analysis.

This position offers unique challenges in managing water sustainability projects and maintaining healthy relationships with utilities. You'll play a crucial role in site selection efforts by analyzing geographical data, permitting requirements, and water availability. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in water infrastructure engineering and strong stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities For Water Resources Manager, AWS Water Team

  • Manage water and wastewater service delivery at AWS facilities
  • Develop and execute water infrastructure delivery for global AWS infrastructure expansion
  • Recommend water-based cooling launch strategies for new regions
  • Ensure effective operation of water systems at existing sites
  • Identify and develop cost savings projects related to water infrastructure
  • Track and manage reliability and maintenance of water systems
  • Conduct Root Cause Analysis and Corrective Action for water systems
  • Deliver water sustainability projects
  • 20% regional travel for site reviews and engineering evaluations

Requirements For Water Resources Manager, AWS Water Team

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical/Chemical/Civil Engineering/Economics/Business
  • 8+ years' work experience delivering water infrastructure and engineering solutions
  • 5+ years of project-related experience working with government agencies, utilities, and site development
  • Strong understanding of mechanical/plumbing related to data centers
  • Proven record of cultivating strong relationships with external stakeholders
