Description For Senior-level Technical Writer

Broadcom's Mainframe Software Division (MSD) is seeking a highly-skilled technical writer experienced in writing for software in an Agile environment. Mainframe experience is desired but not required. This role involves leading others to create, curate, use, and deliver end-user technical documentation for high-tech IT audiences. The position requires daily in-office attendance for Agile team collaboration.

Key responsibilities include:

  1. Content Creation and Management: Partner with stakeholders to design, create, test, and deliver accurate technical content for multiple products and audiences.
  2. Leadership: Mentor teammates, coordinate work of multiple content authors, and lead content initiatives across Agile teams.
  3. Enable Agility: Actively participate in all aspects of Agile development, including ceremonies, planning, and end of sprint demos.

Required skills:

  • Authoring and editing audience-appropriate content
  • Independent research and effective communication
  • Mastery of tools like Adobe Experience Manager, Github, Microsoft Office, Confluence, and Acrolinx
  • Ability to lead writing teams and coordinate with project teams

The ideal candidate should have a Bachelor's degree in English, Technical Communications, Computer Science, or a related field (Master's preferred). Typically, 5+ years of experience in technical communication, technical support, system administration, or product development is required.

This position offers a competitive salary range of $71,000 - $113,000, along with benefits including medical, dental, vision plans, 401(K) with company matching, Employee Stock Purchase Program, and paid time off.
