Canonical is seeking a Cloud Support Associate Engineer to build a career supporting the technical needs of customers leveraging Ubuntu and open source products. This role offers an opportunity for a hands-on engineer with eagerness to learn and a passion for Linux and cloud technologies to work with some of the best people in the industry.
The role involves:
- Providing remote technical support for employees
- Taking ownership of new cases via telephone, email, and web
- Acting as an internal customer advocate
- Handling support cases according to Service Level Agreements (SLAs)
- Contributing to and maintaining knowledge base articles
- Drafting technical notices for internal and external communication
- Prioritizing work to accomplish important and urgent tasks
- Continuous learning as products and services evolve
- Understanding Ubuntu development process
- Maintaining regular communication with the team
- Identifying opportunities to improve service
- Participating in regular weekend working rotation
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in a technical field (Computer Science, MIS, Electrical Engineering, etc.)
- Experience with Linux troubleshooting and server administration
- Strong knowledge of Cloud computing concepts
- Knowledge or basic hands-on experience in virtualization/cloud, containers, storage technologies, or networking
- Programming fundamentals in any language
- Strong written and verbal English communication skills
- Ability to learn quickly and handle pressure
- Willingness to travel for team sprints twice yearly
