Job Description
Chief AI, a pre-seed startup, is building AI solutions for leaders in government and business. As the Founding Engineer, you will architect and build AI systems for executives, partnering directly with the CEO and founding team to ship product, design infrastructure, and bring user workflows to life. The role involves a mix of full-stack and AI-native development, touching everything from backend and frontend to security and AI integrations. You'll have deep ownership across the stack and help define technical direction, product velocity, and engineering culture.
This is a rare opportunity to join as a founder and define the technical DNA of the company. You will work on RAG and agentic AI systems that transform how leaders make decisions. The tech stack includes React, Next.js, Tailwind, Python/Django, AWS, Postgres, OpenAI, Anthropic, and Cursor. The compensation for this role ranges from $130,000 to $200,000, with meaningful early equity and health insurance benefits. Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and ship product features
- Hear feedback directly from customers, and turn around a solution for them in record time
- Constantly monitor, update, and strengthen application security
- Shape and strengthen the technical architecture and quality of our frontend and backend
- Use the latest AI innovations - from RAG to agents - to build a cutting-edge product
