Description For Security Engineer - Federal & Defense Operations SD-WAN

Cisco is seeking a Senior Security Engineer to join their Federal & Defense Operations SD-WAN team. This role is crucial in managing and securing the SD-WAN infrastructure for US Federal Government and Defense customers. The position combines deep security expertise with cloud infrastructure management, requiring 7+ years of cybersecurity experience. You'll be responsible for the complete product lifecycle of SDWAN-G and SDWAN-D, including critical security operations, monitoring, and compliance work.

The role offers a unique opportunity to work with cutting-edge technology while serving government and defense sectors. Responsibilities For Security Engineer - Federal & Defense Operations SD-WAN

  • Oversee complete product lifecycle of SDWAN-G and SDWAN-D including ordering, provisioning, onboarding, and operations
  • Work with multiple clouds and collaborate with various teams to secure controllers and services
  • Continuous assessment and improvement of security posture
  • Implementation of effective security monitoring system
  • Active security monitoring of commercial and U.S. Federal environments
  • Participate in vulnerability management program
  • Lead risk analysis of findings
  • Manage patching, upgrading, customer and on-call support

Requirements For Security Engineer - Federal & Defense Operations SD-WAN

  • 7+ years of experience in cybersecurity with at least 5 years in a cloud security role
  • 5+ years of experience working in federal and defense authorization processes
  • Expertise with AWS cloud platform services
  • Strong knowledge of authentication protocols, authorization standards and crypto primitives
  • Must be able to achieve Top-Secret Clearance
  • Strong expertise with security and privacy operations
  • Strong coding and automation skills with Python, Ansible, Terraform
  • Must be a U.S. Person (U.S. citizen, U.S. national, lawful permanent resident, asylee, or refugee)
