Description For Technical Consulting Engineer - Network Security/Firewall

Cisco is seeking a Technical Consulting Engineer to join their Network Security/Firewall team. This role is part of the Technical Assistance Center (TAC) providing 2nd/3rd level technical support worldwide 24x7x365 to Cisco customers, partners, account teams, and other TAC engineers.

The position focuses on reactive measures, including diagnostics, analysis, and recommendations in the security domain. As part of the Firewall support team within Security TAC, you'll be working with sophisticated technical issues in an ever-evolving security landscape.

The role involves supporting TCEs and Global Delivery Partners with critical scenarios, collaborating with internal teams (Engineering, Development, and Account teams), and maintaining strong customer relationships. You'll be responsible for documenting patterns in software products and mentoring teammates.

The ideal candidate should have advanced knowledge of networking products, troubleshooting skills in various protocols (BGP, PBR, NAT, OSPF, etc.), and experience with different software languages and tools. The position requires strong English skills (B2 or higher) and the ability to work from either the Mexico City or Guadalajara office 2-3 days per week.

  • Advanced knowledge of software languages and distributions (SQL, Monet DB, Linux)
  • Advanced troubleshooting methodologies & problem-solving skills
  • English level B2 or higher
  • Ability to work from office 2-3 days per week
