As a Manufacturing Engineer - NPI at CFS, you'll be instrumental in bridging the gap between product development and full-scale production. Working on a weekend shift (6:00 am - 6:00 pm), you'll collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth product transitions from R&D to manufacturing. The role demands expertise in manufacturing processes, Lean methodologies, and hands-on problem-solving.

Your responsibilities will span from developing manufacturing processes and conducting DFM/DFA analysis to creating comprehensive documentation and training production personnel. You'll work with state-of-the-art technology in fusion energy, including magnets, thermo-mechanical assemblies, and vacuum systems.

The ideal candidate brings 5+ years of manufacturing engineering experience, strong analytical skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities For Manufacturing Engineer - NPI - Weekend Shift

  • Collaborate with product design and development teams to develop product specifications
  • Develop, implement, and qualify manufacturing processes for new products
  • Design and optimize production layouts, tooling, and fixtures
  • Conduct Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) analysis
  • Create and maintain process documentation and SOPs
  • Coordinate with supply chain and planning teams
  • Develop and monitor manufacturing performance metrics
  • Provide hands-on training to production personnel
  • Troubleshoot and resolve production and quality issues
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and quality standards

Requirements For Manufacturing Engineer - NPI - Weekend Shift

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field
  • 5+ years of experience in manufacturing engineering
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other process improvement methodologies
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs occasionally
  • Willingness to work required nights/weekends/on-call
