Job Description

DevDocs is seeking a Software and Documentation Engineer to join their technical team in Redwood City, working specifically with C3 AI, a leading enterprise AI company. This unique position combines software engineering with technical documentation expertise, where you'll be embedded within engineering teams while collaborating with the broader DevDocs team.

The role goes beyond traditional technical writing, requiring strong engineering capabilities to build documentation tools and automate documentation processes. You'll be working with C3 AI's suite of products spanning equipment reliability, generative AI, and demand forecasting, requiring quick learning and deep technical understanding.

As a Software and Documentation Engineer, you'll be responsible for understanding complex technical systems, designing and implementing documentation automation tools, and creating high-quality technical documentation. The position offers a balanced 40-hour work week, competitive compensation ($60-90/hour based on experience), and a strong focus on professional development with a monthly learning stipend.

The ideal candidate brings 4+ years of technical experience, preferably with a degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field. You should be someone who can quickly grasp new technologies, communicate clearly, and take initiative in solving complex problems. The role requires being able to work independently while collaborating effectively with stakeholders.

This is a full-time, in-person contract position at C3 AI's Redwood City office, offering real project ownership and growth opportunities. The company culture emphasizes work-life balance, continuous learning, and professional development. You'll be part of a close-knit team of technical experts who focus on both building documentation tools and creating high-quality technical content.

If you're passionate about technology, enjoy solving complex problems, and can bridge the gap between engineering and documentation, this role offers an exciting opportunity to work with cutting-edge AI technology while building tools that make documentation processes more efficient.
