Sr Software Engineer

Disney Entertainment & ESPN Technology (DE&E Technology) is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join their Commerce, Growth & Identity (CGI) organization. This role is part of the DEE&T Web Commerce team, responsible for building core sign-up, purchase, and subscription management experiences across Disney+, Hulu, ESPN+, and Star+ platforms.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with product and project management to translate requirements into technical specifications and timelines
• Lead by example in writing, maintaining, and enforcing code quality through test-driven development
• Contribute to project needs and the evolution of the team's practices
• Support software throughout the lifecycle, adding new implementations and maintaining clear documentation
• Apply experience and judgment to identify and resolve complex tasks involving architectural application changes
• Support and mentor developers through code reviews, knowledge-sharing, and technical leadership

Basic Qualifications:

• 5+ years experience building highly scalable and performant modern Javascript/Typescript web applications
• BS degree in computer science or equivalent work experience
• Ability to write well-documented, clear, and robust code
• Proven track record integrating API specifications while collaborating with service teams
• Highly diligent with the ability to see projects from beginning to end
• Exhibits emotional intelligence and can work under high-pressure situations

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience shipping production-level React/Node.js applications with high availability and throughput deployed to cloud platforms (e.g., AWS)
• Solid understanding of web accessibility fundamentals
• Strong knowledge of web standards and new technologies

The role offers a competitive salary range of $136,100 - $191,100 per year (depending on location) and includes a comprehensive benefits package with health insurance, retirement programs, paid time off, and educational opportunities.
