Founding Engineer

Drillbit is a YC-backed startup on a mission to make housing more affordable by automating office work for residential contractors. Having raised a $3.6 million seed round at a $22 million valuation and serving over 160 businesses daily with projected $1.8M in revenue, we're seeking a founding engineer to join our team. This is a staff-level position where you'll partner directly with the founder to build and lead the engineering team.

As our founding engineer, you'll be instrumental in shaping our technical direction and product development. The role combines technical leadership with hands-on development, requiring expertise in building scalable systems and staying current with LLM technologies. You'll be responsible for developing our technology strategy, managing team growth, and ensuring high-quality delivery while maintaining a culture of innovation.

The ideal candidate brings a blend of technical excellence and leadership experience, preferably with founding or early-stage startup experience. You'll need a strong computer science background, experience with large-scale systems, and a passion for our mission of making housing more affordable.
