Senior Network Engineer

Flexport is seeking a Shanghai-based Senior Network Engineer to join their team focused on internal network engineering. This role is crucial in helping fulfill Flexport's mission of fixing the user experience in global trade. The Senior Network Engineer will be responsible for designing, deploying, and managing the global enterprise network on various cutting-edge platforms. They will drive automation tooling and implement tools to improve reliability and efficiency in the global network.

Key responsibilities include:

• Architecting, designing, planning, and implementing improvements to the global network infrastructure
• Collaborating with the security team on security-related enhancements
• Installing, configuring, and troubleshooting network hardware
• Designing and maintaining systems for monitoring, analysis, management, and alerting
• Acting as a technical escalation point for network-related issues
• Performing peer reviews and maintaining strong documentation
• Implementing in-house testing and research for network infrastructure improvements
• Developing and improving network policies and procedures
• Creating automated methods to mitigate and remediate network events
• Managing relationships with service providers, contractors, and vendors

The ideal candidate will have:

• 5-7 years of networking experience
• Experience in designing large-scale global networks
• Strong knowledge of routers, switches, WiFi solutions, firewalls, and EndPoint Security solutions
• Hands-on experience with Palo Alto Networks, Ruckus, Cisco, Aruba, and Juniper devices/technology
• Expertise in Layer 2 and Layer 3 protocols, routing protocols, and VPN technologies
• Programming or scripting skills (Terraform or Python preferred)
• Familiarity with monitoring tools like CheckMK, Logic Monitor, and DataDog
• Customer service mindset and ability to maintain effective partnerships
